What also will never be forgotten is the infamous Red Ring Of Death, over heating and countless Wi-Fi connection issues. Once the Xbox One was manufactured, the 360 seem to slow to a crawl. This didn’t stop developers from making games for both systems… until now.

Phil Spencer: “Xbox 360 means a lot to everyone in Microsoft, “And while we’ve had an amazing run, the realities of manufacturing a product over a decade old are starting to creep up on us. Which is why we have made the decision to stop manufacturing new Xbox 360 consoles.”

One would suspect that this news, game developers will also not manufacture games for the console for future releases.

All is not lost. Last year during E3, Xbox announced backwards compatibility between the Xbox 360 and Xbox one. They have met that promise by slowing rolling out games that are compatible. There is a noticeable lag in the backwards compatible games but its a start.

Will this boost Xbox One sells? Time will tell.
