Microsoft backs out of Gamescom 2016

Microsoft confirms that they will not take the stage at Gamescom 2016 this year. Is it a sign of things to come?

After laying all the cards on the table at E3, Microsoft has pulled out of their presentation on the main stage of next months Gamescom. After announcing their gambit of games and two new consoles, having another presentation at Gamescom would have been nothing more than regurgitating the same news.155341.alfabetajuega-xbox-play-anywhere-010716

Aaron Greenberg of Xbox informs;

“While we will not be hosting a media briefing this year, we’re planning a new and more intimate Xbox FanFest experience for our fans across Europe and worldwide attending Gamescom 2016.  We will be sharing more details on our Gamescom 2016 Xbox FanFest soon.”
Microsoft as taken the same stance a few others have with E3. Deciding to forgo the presentation stage for a more personal setting at Xbox FanFest.
Xbox will still be well represented as they will still hold residents at their booth at Gamescom.
