What to expect from Ubisoft’s E3 Press Event

Ubisoft’s Press Events has always been a fan favorite. Will they top last years Event?

It’s no secret that Ubisoft has been a powerhouse when it comes to its press events. After all, it’s nothing but games, games , and more games with a dance number or two sprinkled in. Here is what we expect to see in Ubisoft’s 2017 E3 press event.

Just Dance 2018

Just Dance has become a E3 staple for Ubisoft. For the past few years, we have been greeted with a dance routine or two from the franchise. I expect nothing different this year. Last years dance was a bit awkward at times. Even Aisha Tyler had to tap dance over its performance to save face. Lets hope this time it’s not as over the top as it was before.

It’s possible to also see how Just Dance will integrate with the new Nintendo Switch. With Nintendo not taking the stage again this year, any publicity is good publicity.

South Park: The Fractured but Whole

South Park: The Fractured but Whole as been delayed multiple times. Currently, the rumored release date is now set for March 31 2018. Ubisoft will most likely address the delay and confirm the new release date.

Considering the excitement across the last two years of hype for this game, The Fractured but Whole has become one of Ubisoft’s biggest disappointments. Ubisoft, most likely, will not spend as much time as they have in the past on this game, however they need to reassure its fans that it’s still a priority.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands DLC

Ghost Recon: Wildlands has been very popular. With one of the biggest maps incorporated in a game, Ghost Recon practically sells itself. Now, Ubisoft has to give its fans a reason to keep playing it. We are likely to see upcoming DLC game play videos for this title.

New Assassins Creed

I can’t remember a Ubisoft E3 press event without Assassins Creed. It’s an E3 staple that I don’t see changing any time soon. With its hit movie releasing on DVD, riding its coat tails to another game release makes sense from a business standpoint.

Watchdogs 3

Too soon? We don’t think so. It typically takes Ubisoft a few years to release Watchdogs after its announced. While its doubtful that you will see any gameplay or a confirmed release date, I suspect that a brief teaser trailer may find its way on to the main stage.

Splinter Cell

I think everyone would agree that its time for an update to one of Ubisoft’s more successful franchise games. With a movie in the works, it make perfect sense to dust off Sam Fisher and send him back into action.

Far Cry 5

Montana? The New Far Cry game will be a country bumpkin shooter of sorts. Ubisoft has just confirmed that Far Cry 5 is set to release February 27, 2018.

While some details of the game has already been released, look for Ubisoft to expand on its content. Far Cry 5 already comes with some controversy, including the Last Supper picture above, to the racial tension throughout the revealed trailer.

The Crew 2

Ubisoft announced that The Crew 2 is also coming at some point. We should get more details, gameplay as well as the official trailer at the upcoming press event.

Parting Shot

Ubisoft has a ton of games to show off so rest assure that this is only a start. If you didn’t see a game you believe will make the cut, go easy on me. Listing the ton of games Ubisoft has up its sleeve would take up way more time that I currently have.

On top of the games, Ubisoft will likely give a little love to Nintendo Switch and VR gaming. They ventured into VR the last few years with Star Trek. I assume they will likely expand on VR in some fashion.

Did I miss something that you are looking forward to seeing at this years E3 event? Maybe a Division sequel? Let me know. If you have a different take on what you believe will be revealed, I would love to hear that as well.

The event will be held on June 12 at 1 PM PT. We will be on site, hope to see you there!
