Microsoft announces new Avatars for the Xbox One at the Electronic Entertainment Expo
Phil Spenser hinted at avatars for the Xbox One getting a huge update but never really confirmed anything outside of a wheel chair. Now we are getting a better scope of things with this latest announcement.
From pregnant women to country gals, and unicorns to prosodic limbs, Xbox’s new avatars will have you covered. Diversity has become a huge pint of interest for Microsoft.
“We built these from the ground-up, they’re being built in Unity which is a whole new engine,” says Bryan Saftler, “Avatars are meant for whatever you want your digital self to represent. We don’t want to put you in a box, there are no more check boxes, no matter what you think you look like or what you want to present online.”
With avatars being a part of Xbox for almost a decade, this newest overhaul is well over due. Considering that it cost money to upgrade your current avatars, Its unclear of how much accessories will cost.
The new avatars are scheduled to launch this fall.
